Jade Rabbit

Jade Rabbit is a kinetic exotic Scout Rifle for your primary weapon slot. It’s exotic perk, The Fate of All Fools, lets you increase the damage of precision shots after chaining body shots.

To activate this perk, you have to shoot an enemy in the body 2+ times, get the buff, and then land a precision shot.

Jade is a bit of an odd duck. It was a direct 1:1 migration from Destiny 1 where we were on different platforms, we had larger maps, and slower overall movement speed. Destiny 2 is a completely different game with a completely different sandbox and that difference is plain to see with Jade Rabbit.

It isn’t good in PvE. Scouts aren’t in a great place right now. And, there are plenty of other primary weapons that have better perks, that deal far higher DPS, or just have better synergy with certain builds, i.e. warmind cells.

It isn’t good in PvP, especially in this Dead Man’s Tale / 120 HC meta where you don’t have to rely on a gimmicky exotic perk to optimize your TTK. And that isn’t even touching how small Crucible and Trials maps are these days. Bluntly, Dead Man’s Tale is everything that Jade Rabbit wishes it could be.

If you don’t have Jade Rabbit, feel free to pick it up so you can add it to your collections. Otherwise, it isn’t a good weapon and isn’t worth your time.

You should honestly just run Presage and get Dead Man’s Tale instead.

Ophidia Spathe

Ophidia Spathe is an exotic chest armor for Hunters with the exotic perk Scissor Fingers that grants you two knives per charge.

Unfortunately, this does not grant you a second melee charge. The wording of the perk is very specific for a reason.

It only grants a second throwing knife which means that only Gunslingers can take advantage of Scissor Fingers. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Ophidia Spathe an excellent exotic with a high overall stat, mobility, and strength roll which synergizes incredibly well with Gunslinger subclasses.

You should definitely pick up Ophidia Spathe this week if you don’t have a better version already.

Mask of the Silent One

Mask of the Silent One is a titan exotic helmet with the exotic perk Dreaded Visage which lets you gain ability energy when you’re damage and will heal on kills when you’re critically low.

While this exotic has a higher than average roll this week, it’s just not a good exotic. The perk is only useful when you’re taking damage and you shouldn’t ever be taking damage. And the energy you get for taking damage is not worth putting yourself in a compromising position.

No matter what activity you’re doing or what build you’re running, there is always a better choice for your exotic armor slot than Mask of the Silent One.

xur skull of the dire ahamkara may 14, 2021

Skull of the Dire Ahamkara

Skull of Dire Ahamkara. The OG exotic warlock helm that made very Voidwalker ludicrously happy. Its exotic perk, Actual Grandeur, grants additional Super energy from Nova Bomb kills.

Skull is currently a shadow of its former self after the nerfs to Super energy regeneration that Bungie pushed through a while back. However, that doesn’t make this exotic a waste of your time.

I still have hope that Bungie will roll back the nerfs on Skull. They may be completely unfounded, but this is a great exotic for clearing large groups of trash mobs with an Attunement of Chaos (top tree) Voidwalker warlock. This only gets better this season since Bungie added a new Warmind Cell mod called Warmind’s Decree.

warmind's decree warmind cell-mod

Regardless, you should definitely pick up Skull of Dire Ahamkara this week. It has an almost perfect roll (RIP resilience) with a higher than average intellect stat roll. This will help you get your Nova Bomb faster and get more of your super energy back after dunking on a pack of trash mobs.

I picked it up and plan on using it with a Void Warmind Cell build to turn my Warlock into an add clear King.
